This was a typically tight urban site, with the design challenge of getting a quality 4 bedroom house with internal access garaging to fit within the site constraints. The client owned the neighbouring property so was able to sign off as an ‘Affected Party’ for a major infringement to the height to boundary control on the northern side. The house was designed to comply with the 35 degree southern boundary control and with site coverage with a footprint of only 144m2. The client chose materials and interior finishes and managed the project themselves, working with Cary Gleeson.
